This Dashboard shows data for Thames Water Sewage
Treatment Works in the Pang Valley
The STW sites are listed from west to east. All discharge data is pulled from the
Thames Water API portal and stored in the PVFF database from which this webpage is generated.
The groundwater and rain data is pulled from the
Environment Agency data API into the PVFF database. You can also link to Thames Water's own
STW discharge map.
The data issued from the Thames Water API portal records
a status change. A status change alert type can 'Start', 'Stop',
'Offline Start', 'Offline Stop'. If a site has issued a
'Start', the analysis below assumes that the site continues
to discharge until a 'Stop' alert is issued, even if a
'Offline Start' or 'Offline Stop' has been issued in the
meantime.
Similarly, if a 'Offline Start' has been issued when the
site is not discharging, we have considered it to remain not
discharging until a 'Start' alert is issued.
Storm discharge and event duration monitoring (EDM)
Storm discharge is a mixture of rainwater and untreated sewage,
released by storm overflows into watercourses. This happens during
heavy or continued rain to prevent sewer flooding. Thames Water
use EDM to record storm discharge activity.
